NBA Notes...

Jumpin' around...
  • - Kenny Anderson... He may be long in the tooth, but the Blazers should think twice about turning away his offer to join the organization in it's attempt to find a veteran pg to help Jarrett Jack mature and develop. Reportedly the Blazers have looked at 7-year vet Anthony Carter, among others. Carter is a capable choice, younger by a few years, but Anderson brings something different to the table. He has a history of positive contact with Jack, common experiences at Ga Tech, and Anderson can still play a little. He may not be what he once was, but he would not be there to be what he once was. Jack will log the most minutes and Dikau will return slowly. But, if they want a good mentor, it would not be a bad idea to re-think a still serviceable player, who is actually ready and willing to be a mentor. With all the egos in pro sports these days, teams won't find many who would actually accept this type of role. Or, Pritchard and McMillan could ask Isaiah Thomas to come out of retirement to help bring Jack along. That would be interesting.
  • - Shaq's portfolio... Hey, Mr. O'neal! I have some beach front property for sale -- in Nebraska. Priced to sell! Seriously, Shaq knows he won't play forever. Investing in real estate is the smartest thing to do. They ain't makin' no more land.
  • - Alan Henderson... How in the world does Alan Henderson continue to land jobs? The 76ers are hurting 'big time' if they can't find a better free agent pick up than the journeyman Henderson. After a couple of promising seasons in the first stages of his career, Henderson has been quite un-remarkable. Hey, gotta couple of more exciting power fowards from my WBA team. For real.
  • Human Highlight Film. Congratulations. You honestly deserved it! If they were to re-pick the Top 50 NBA players, I think a lot of voters would re-consider. You belong.
  • Barkley and Dumars. Barkley for Governor! Dumars is a class act. Congrats!
  • If former NBA player Henry James is convicted, the bailiff should kick him in the ass as they lead him away! Nine times, one for every three he hit + one for every child he had with him. 15 swift kicks in the rear! Of course, all this - only if he is found guilty. Until then, he is innocent, right?
  • Hawks floored before they soar? Speedy Claxton, the newly acquired pg, broke his finger in workouts and is expected to miss a few weeks. Tough break for the Hawks, who are desparately trying to bring this franchise out of the cellar. Hope for a 'speedy' recovery for Claxton.
  • USA women drop semi-final game to Russia, 75-68. We gotta face it folks... there is parity in the world of basketball. The rest of the world has most definitely caught up.
